Now Playing: Where is Xur and What is He Selling – January 28, 2022
Head to Tower, to the Hangar area, to find Xur this week. For his weapon, Xur is offering the Two-Tailed Fox rocket launcher. Hunters can pick up the Shards of Galanor gauntlets; for Titans, there’s the Lion Rampant leg armor; and for Warlocks, Xur has the Karnstein Armlets gauntlets.
Xur’s Exotics this week are decent rolls if you need better versions of either Shards of Galanor or Lion Rampant, although not necessarily anything that falls into the must-have category.
For Legendary weapons, you’ll definitely want to grab Xur’s Night Watch scout rifle, which is pretty close to a god roll for PvE activities. It sports Explosive Payload, Outlaw, and a Handling Masterwork, making it a great option for clearing out enemies; it’ll also do solid work in the Crucible as well, if you need it. The Falling Guillotine Xur offers isn’t bad either if you need one, with Jagged Edge, Relentless Strikes for gaining extra ammo, and Surrounded and an Impact Masterwork for even more damage against groups of enemies.
Xur’s Legendary armor this week is the Righteous set from the Season of Dawn. Titans make out the best, with three pieces sporting a stat at 20 or higher–you’ll definitely want to grab Xur’s leg armor, with a stat roll of 66, and probably the chest armor at 64, and even the helmet, which is only 61 but has high Recovery. For other characters, as usual, Xur’s legendary offerings are good for filling in gaps in your loadout if you should have any. Hunters can nab a decent helmet with a total stat roll of 63 and leg armor at 62; Warlocks can grab chest armor at 62.
Xur Location
You’ll find Xur in the Tower this week, so spawn in at the Courtyard transmat zone and hang a left, heading first down the ramp, and then down the stairs, to get to the Hangar. At the bottom of the stairs, turn left again and head to the north edge of the area. You’ll find more stairs that will take you up to a catwalk where Xur waits.
Xur is present every weekend in Destiny 2, starting with the daily reset at 9 AM PT / 12 PM ET each Friday. His exact location is always a mystery when he first arrives, as he is not listed on the map, and for novice players, he can be easy to miss. However, there are a set number of locations where he takes up residence, including the Tower Hangar area, on Nessus in Watcher’s Grave, and in the Winding Cove area of the EDZ.
Xur Exotic Items
The formerly PlayStation-exclusive Two-Tailed Fox is Xur’s Exotic weapon offering this week. The rocket launcher is a fun one, firing two rockets with different elements and effects, making it great for clearing small enemies or weakening and heavily damaging tough ones in PvE. If you’re not a fan of his other options, Xur also sells an Exotic engram that will decrypt into an Exotic you don’t already own. Just note that you can only buy one per week, and the engram is specific to the character class who buys it–so if you’re trying to get a new Titan helmet, don’t buy the engram with your Warlock. He also has the new Xenology Quest, which rewards an Exotic Cipher you can use to purchase Exotics from either Xur or the Tower’s Monument to Lost Lights. The quest requires you to either complete Strikes or win matches in Gambit and the Crucible.

Alongside changes in his location, Xur’s inventory also rotates weekly. That means it’s worth visiting him each time to check out his new weapons and rolls on Exotic and Legendary armor. You can visit him any time between his arrival Friday and the weekly reset at 9 AM PT / 12 PM ET the following Tuesday when Xur departs the solar system.

Two-Tailed Fox (Rocket Launcher)
You can get a lot done with Two-Tailed Fox, whether in PvE or PvP activities. The rocket launcher packs not one but two rockets, which each track a single target. One rocket is Void, while the other is Solar, and each carries a special effect: the Void rocket suppresses enemies, while the Solar rocket sets them on fire for damage over time. Thanks to its tracking and extra status effects, this is a fun launcher for the Crucible, but it excels best when you can use it to inflict a lot of pain on both major and minor enemies in PvE.
Shards of Galanor (Hunter)
The Shards of Galanor gauntlets are a good Hunter standby if you intend to use the Blade Barrage Super and don’t need to use your Exotic slot on something more important to your build. The Exotic returns Super energy to you when you do damage or land kills with your Blade Barrage, up to 50% of your total energy–which is great for high-Intellect builds. This is a solid roll for the Exotic, too, so grab this if you need a set of Shards or want to improve the version you already own.

Lion Rampant (Titan)
If you like to take advantage of Titans’ mid-air capabilities, Lion Rampant is for you. It increases your maneuverability while airborne, making you tougher to hit, while greatly increasing the accuracy of your hipfire shots at the same time. Airborne enemies are a lot tougher to counter in the Crucible, so take advantage with Lion Rampant.

Karnstein Armlets (Warlock)
If you’re a Warlock who likes melee fighting, Karnstein Armlets is the Exotic for you. Landing any melee kill gives you a bunch of health instantly, while also continuing to restore your health for a little while thereafter–so if you like to wade into the thick of battle, these gauntlets can help keep you alive. They’re great with a high-Strength build when paired with fireballs, as well.
