Now Playing: Destiny 2: The Witch Queen Xur Location July 29, 2022

This week you can find Xur in the Tower, in the Hangar area. For his weapon, Xur is offering The Colony. Hunters can pick up the St0mp-EE5 leg armor; Titans can grab ACD/0 Feedback Fence gauntlets; and for Warlocks, Xur has the Karnstein Armlets gauntlets. Xur’s Hawkmoon carries the Rangefinder perk, while his Dead Man’s Tale packs Vorpal Weapon.

Xur Location

Start in the Courtyard area of the Tower to find Xur this week. Immediately hang a left and head down the stairs to the Hangar area, then turn left again when you reach it. Walk to its north end and look for a set of stairs leading up to a catwalk, where Xur waits.

Xur is present every weekend in Destiny 2, starting with the daily reset at 10 AM PT / 1 PM ET each Friday. His exact location is always a mystery when he first arrives, as he is not listed on the map, and for novice players, he can be easy to miss. However, there are a set number of locations where he takes up residence, including the Tower Hangar area, on Nessus in Watcher’s Grave, and in the Winding Cove area of the EDZ.

Xur Exotic and Legendary Items

Xur brings The Queensbreaker as his Exotic weapon this week–which he was selling just a couple weeks ago. The linear fusion rifle can still rip some pretty great headshots at various ranges, but it hasn’t been part of the meta for quite a while. If you’re not a fan of his other options, Xur also sells an Exotic engram that will decrypt into an Exotic you don’t already own from the world drop pool. Just note that you can only buy one per week, and the engram is specific to the character class who buys it–so if you’re trying to get a new Titan helmet, don’t buy the engram with your Warlock. He also has the new Xenology Quest, which rewards an Exotic Cipher you can use to purchase Exotics from either Xur or the Tower’s Monument to Lost Lights. The quest requires you to either complete Strikes or win matches in Gambit and the Crucible.

Alongside changes in his location, Xur’s inventory also rotates weekly. That means it’s worth visiting him each time to check out his new weapons and rolls on Exotic and Legendary armor. You can visit him any time between his arrival Friday and the weekly reset at 10 AM PT / 1 PM ET the following Tuesday when Xur departs the Solar System.

Xur’s packing some great options for Exotic weapons this week. Hawkmoon this week is pretty close to a PvP god roll, thanks to the Rangefinder perk, which is generally the one most players are looking for. This roll comes with a lot of Stability, which should also help you land your shots while avoiding too much flinch. Dead Man’s Tale is also in PvP god roll territory, sporting Vorpal Weapon, the main perk generally sought by Crucible players, with a strong emphasis on range. If you need a couple of good versions of these guns, pick these up.

Xur is also packing some great, fun Legendary guns this week as well.

The Empty Vessel grenade launcher is a god roll with Blinding Grenades, Surplus, and Swashbuckler, but specifically because of a slightly buggy Auto-Loading Holster perk, and packs a Reload Speed Masterwork. This is a great launcher for high-level PvE content; just make sure you get one with Auto-Loading Holster.

His Whispering Slab bow comes with Hip-Fire Grip, Sympathetic Arsenal, and an Accuracy Masterwork, which makes it pretty useful and versatile–and Sympathetic Arsenal on a bow means your other guns are reloaded after every single shot. The Friction Fire submachine gun with Field Prep, Rampage, and a Handling Masterwork is also a decent roll on a rangy SMG, although it’ll probably serve you better in PvE than PvP. Xur’s Survivor’s Epitaph hand cannon is doing that weird bug thing where its perks change: we’re seeing Surplus and Moving Target, but it also has alternatives with Ambitious Assassin and Kill Clip. Its Impact Masterwork doesn’t actually do anything, apparently, but this might be one to grab for the weirdness. The Bad Omens rocket launcher sports Tracking Module and Cluster Bomb with a Blast Radius Masterwork, which is personally my favorite roll on one of my favorite rocket launchers. Finally, Xur’s got The Fool’s Remedy, a sidearm from the Iron Banner with Quickdraw, Feeding Frenzy, and a Stability Masterwork, making it a pretty good secondary PvP weapon.

You can grab the Lightkin armor from Xur this week from the Season of the Splicer. There’s not much to mention for Titans except a super-spiked roll on chest armor.

The Colony (Grenade Launcher)

The Colony is one of the more fun Exotic grenade launchers in Destiny 2, for two reasons: It almost always guarantees a PvP kill when you fire it, and it’s weird as hell. The launcher fires tracking grenades that are actually spider-like robots that run along the ground and up surfaces. They’re great at chasing down opponents and blowing them up, allowing you to mostly fire and forget them. The launcher also automatically reloads itself when it’s stowed.

St0mp-EE5 (Hunter)

Every Hunter should have a set of St0mp-EE5 boots in their collection, even if this is something of a weak stat roll. The leg armor boosts your jumps, increases your sprint speed, and lengthens your slide distance, making this a beloved Crucible Exotic for Hunters that gives them a ton of extra maneuverability. The drawback is that these boots hurt your airborne effectiveness, but bouncing over enemies and flying through the air can still be very useful–plus, St0mp-EE5 will help you get through tough platforming portions in raids and other high-level PvE content.

ACD/0 Feedback Fence (Titan)

Titans who like to go swinging into battle will like ACD/0 Feedback Fence. The gauntlets build up energy as you land melee hits. When an enemy hits you back, the damage is reduced and the built-up energy is released in a big explosion around you. That’s extremely handy in PvE situations, provided you like to fight in the thick of things.

Karnstein Armlets (Warlock)

Warlocks don’t necessarily tend to be punch-heavy characters, but if you like boxing through enemies, Karnstein Armlets can be very fun. The gauntlets give you a big boost to health when you kill enemies with melee attacks, with your health restoration continuing for a short while afterward, as well. If you can slug your way through enemies, Karnstein Armlets can help keep you alive.
