Now Playing: Destiny 2: The Witch Queen Xur Location June 24, 2022

This week you can find Xur in the Tower, inside the Hangar. For his weapon, Xur is offering Merciless. Hunters can pick up the Gwisin Vest chest armor; Titans can grab Citan’s Ramparts gauntlets; and for Warlocks, Xur has the Eye of Another World helmet. Xur’s Hawkmoon carries the Moving Target perk, while his Dead Man’s Tale packs Fourth Time’s the Charm.

Xur Location

Use the Courtyard transmat zone in the Tower to find Xur this week. When you spawn in, hang a left and head down through the stairs into the Hangar area. When you arrive, turn left again and run to the north edge of the area. Look for a set of stairs leading up to a catwalk, where you’ll find Xur waiting.

Xur is present every weekend in Destiny 2, starting with the daily reset at 10 AM PT / 1 PM ET each Friday. His exact location is always a mystery when he first arrives, as he is not listed on the map, and for novice players, he can be easy to miss. However, there are a set number of locations where he takes up residence, including the Tower Hangar area, on Nessus in Watcher’s Grave, and in the Winding Cove area of the EDZ.

Xur Exotic and Legendary Items

Merciless is an old fusion rifle, but it checks out. The gun is great for damaging tougher enemies and crowd control, thanks to the fact that it gains damage buffs after kills and speedier charge times when you hit an enemy but it doesn’t die. If you’re not a fan of his other options, Xur also sells an Exotic engram that will decrypt into an Exotic you don’t already own from the world drop pool. Just note that you can only buy one per week, and the engram is specific to the character class who buys it–so if you’re trying to get a new Titan helmet, don’t buy the engram with your Warlock. He also has the new Xenology Quest, which rewards an Exotic Cipher you can use to purchase Exotics from either Xur or the Tower’s Monument to Lost Lights. The quest requires you to either complete Strikes or win matches in Gambit and the Crucible.

Alongside changes in his location, Xur’s inventory also rotates weekly. That means it’s worth visiting him each time to check out his new weapons and rolls on Exotic and Legendary armor. You can visit him any time between his arrival Friday and the weekly reset at 10 AM PT / 1 PM ET the following Tuesday when Xur departs the Solar System.

For Hawkmoon this week, Xur has Moving Target, a weaker perk option for the gun, especially as far as PvP is concerned. For Dead Man’s Tale, it’s the same story, with Fourth Time’s the Charm being decent in PvP or PvE, but not the best this gun has to offer. Both are safely skippable.

As for Xur’s Legendary weapons, there aren’t many standouts. The Seventh Seraph VY-7 submachine gun is the best option here, partially because it’s another of those weird Accuracy Masterwork guns. It also packs Fourth Time’s the Charm and Vorpal Weapon, making it decent for PvE and PvP. As for the others guns, it largely comes down to gaps in your collections and personal preference. Gnawing Hunger is a top-tier auto rifle, especially for PvP, but Rampage and Zen Moment with a Stability Masterwork is just so-so. Xur’s Tarantula linear fusion rifle with Field Prep, Box Breathing, and a Charge Time Masterwork isn’t a bad roll for a PvE DPS weapon, but there are better linear options out there.

The Legendary armor in Xur’s inventory this week is from an old Vanguard set from the Season of the Worthy: The Took Offense set for Hunters, The Shelter in Place set for Titans, and the Xenos Vale IV set for Warlocks.

Merciless (Fusion Rifle)

Merciless is powerful fusion rifle that doesn’t necessarily get a ton of love from the Destiny 2 community, but can still be pretty useful, especially in PvE situations. The gun gets a damage boost whenever you kill an enemy and then reload it. If you don’t kill an enemy with Merciless, however, it gets a buff to its charge time, allowing you to fire your next shot faster. That means you can get a lot of use out of this gun against tougher targets like elites, Champions, or bosses, especially when you have the opportunity to kill a weaker enemy first to buff Merciless’s damage.

Gwisin Vest (Hunter)

Gwisin Vest can make your Spectral Blades Super a very powerful tool in the Crucible. The Exotic extends the duration of your Super, making it possible to wrack up a whole bunch of kills with it. Whenever you get a kill and then activate Spectral Blades’ stealth ability, the vest restores Super energy–the more kills you get before activating stealth, the more energy you get. That makes it possible to rip through some other players, restore stealth, and hunt down more before your Super runs out.

Citan’s Ramparts (Titan)

Citan’s Ramparts are a go-to Exotic for Titans, especially in the Crucible. They can make you extremely deadly in modes that have you holding down defensive positions, such as control points. When using Citan’s Ramparts, your Barriers get reduced health and duration, but you and your teammates can shoot through them–allowing you and your teammates to shoot freely from a safe position. This is a weak roll on the Exotic, however, so only pick up these gloves if you need them for your collection.

Mobility: 9Resilience: 14Recovery: 7Discipline: 14Intellect: 13Strength: 2 Total: 59

Eye of Another World (Warlock)

Eye of Another World has a few perks for Warlocks, but the main one is the boost to your ability recovery speed. If you’re running an ability-focused build, especially with some Solar 3.0 tweaks and seasonal mods like Classy Recovery, this can be a useful Exotic for you. It also highlights priority targets to make placing your shots a little easier, and boosts your Airborne Effectiveness for all your weapons. All that said, this is a bit of a goofy stat roll, with more emphasis placed on Mobility than Warlocks usually want, so use your discretion when deciding whether you need this one.
