Where Is Xur Today? (March 4-8) – Destiny 2 Xur Location And Exotics Guide

Xur is back in the solar system to help with a fresh batch of Exotics and Legendary gear, just in time to help you gear up for the new raid in Destiny 2. The Witch Queen expansion brings another huge endgame activity for players to battle through, and especially if you’re taking part in the race to finish the raid in the first 24 hours, you’re going to want to be as prepared as possible. Here’s where you can find Xur and everything he’s selling.

Head to the Tower‘s Hangar area, to find Xur this week. For his weapon, Xur is offering the Merciless fusion rifle. Hunters can pick up the Sealed Ahamkara Grasps gauntlets; for Titans, there’s the One-Eyed Mask helmet; and for Warlocks, Xur has the Getaway Artist gauntlets.

Now Playing: Destiny 2 Where is Xur March 4th, 2022

As with last weekend, Xur’s Exotic offerings are low-stat versions and therefore not worth your time unless you’re unlocking Exotics you didn’t already have. All three pieces of armor offer stat totals of 48, which is very low–likely to avoid giving any specific classes an advantage for this weekend’s World First race for The Witch Queens’ new raid, Vow of the Disciple.

For Legendary weapons, Xur isn’t offering too much that’s especially stellar, either. The Frozen Orbit sniper rifle he offers can be okay for PvP activities thanks to No Distractions and Quickdraw for swapping and low flinch, with a Handling Masterwork. Cartesian Coordinate can be useful in PvE situations with Lead from Gold for additional ammo and Swashbuckler for a damage boost, and a Charge Time Masterwork. But none of the other offerings, or even these ones, are must-haves; like the Truthteller with Spike Grenades, these are mostly for filling out your ordinance if you feel like you need something while you wait for a better roll.

The Hawkmoon in Xur’s inventory can be a good PvP choice thanks to Quick Draw, particularly if you’re a player who’s always got a shotgun or fusion rifle at the ready. As for his Dead Man’s Tale, it’s middling with Moving Target, which is helpful for nailing more headshots more often, but hardly the best perk you can find on this gun.

Xur’s Legendary armor offering this week is the Anti-Extinction set, the old Dead Orbit faction armor set. Grabbing any of these is purely for cosmetic considerations, though, as all their stats are set at totals of 48, making all this armor pretty much worthless.

Xur Location

You’ll find Xur in the Tower this week, so spawn in at the Courtyard transmat zone and then head left. Descent both sets of stairs into the Hangar section, then turn left again and head to the north edge. Look for a staircase up to a catwalk as you approach the edge of the area, where you’ll find Xur waiting.

Xur is present every weekend in Destiny 2, starting with the daily reset at 9 AM PT / 12 PM ET each Friday. His exact location is always a mystery when he first arrives, as he is not listed on the map, and for novice players, he can be easy to miss. However, there are a set number of locations where he takes up residence, including the Tower Hangar area, on Nessus in Watcher’s Grave, and in the Winding Cove area of the EDZ.

Xur Exotic and Legendary Items

This weekend, Xur has Merciless for you, a fusion rifle that can be fun to use and deal high damage. The gun gets faster and more powerful every time you fire a shot but don’t kill what you’re aiming at, which can make it good for killing tougher foes. If you’re not a fan of his other options, Xur also sells an Exotic engram that will decrypt into an Exotic you don’t already own. Just note that you can only buy one per week, and the engram is specific to the character class who buys it–so if you’re trying to get a new Titan helmet, don’t buy the engram with your Warlock. He also has the new Xenology Quest, which rewards an Exotic Cipher you can use to purchase Exotics from either Xur or the Tower’s Monument to Lost Lights. The quest requires you to either complete Strikes or win matches in Gambit and the Crucible.

Alongside changes in his location, Xur’s inventory also rotates weekly. That means it’s worth visiting him each time to check out his new weapons and rolls on Exotic and Legendary armor. You can visit him any time between his arrival Friday and the weekly reset at 9 AM PT / 12 PM ET the following Tuesday when Xur departs the solar system.

Merciless (Fusion Rifle)

Merciless never seems to be quite a weapon in Destiny 2’s meta, but it’s still fun and reliable if you need something to dump damage or eliminate a bunch of enemies fast. Killing an enemy with Merciless and then reloading it gives the gun a damage boost, while damaging an enemy without killing it boosts the gun’s charge speed. That means that, used correctly, you can boost its damage and then dump shots quickly into tougher enemies like Champions or bosses. Again, it’s never quite useful enough to be a go-to gun for high-level content, but Merciless is an active weapon that can create some fun havoc.

Sealed Ahamkara Grasps (Hunter)

There aren’t many armor pieces that encourage Hunters to wade into the melee fray, but Sealed Ahamkara Grasps is one–and with new Void 3.0 changes, it can be handy for an invisibility build. The gauntlets reload your guns whenever you do melee damage, and especially with new Void builds that make you invisible as you land melee kills, you might not ever have to reload your guns again.

One-Eyed Mask (Titan)

One-Eyed Mask isn’t the PvP go-to it used to be, but it’s still a great Crucible Exotic for the right build. When an enemy damages you, the helmet highlights them to make them easier to spot. If you kill that enemy, you gain an overshield, so wearing it in duels can give you the protection you need to take on additional foes, especially Guardians.

Getaway Artist (Warlock)

Arc Souls are, more or less, like having a second gun helping you in any firefight. That makes Getaway Artist a pretty great option in the Crucible, since the added firepower makes you a lot more likely to win duels against other players. The Exotic allows you to overcharge your Arc grenade to create the same sort of Arc Soul you can get from certain rifts, but with additional power. The Arc buddy acts as an automatic turret, helping you mow down anyone who dares engage you.
