It’s the final weekend of Season of Defiance, Lightfall’s first season, and next week will see a familiar face and location return to Destiny 2. Before that happens, now is a great time to stock up on Exotics sold by Xur, especially with several Exotic armor and weapon reworks coming in the big Season of the Deep update. Here’s where you can find Xur this weekend and what the Agent of the Nine has for sale.
This week you can find Xur in the EDZ, in the Winding Cove area. For his weapon, Xur is offering Prometheus Lens. Hunters can pick up The Dragon’s Shadow chest armor; Titans can grab Mk. 44 Stand Asides leg armor; and for Warlocks, Xur has the Felwinter’s Helm helmet.
Xur Location
Spawn in at the Winding Cove transmat zone, then hop on your sparrow and go north. Take the collapsed overpass on the left and look for a cave near the bend in the road. Follow the tunnel through the cliff face to reach a higher ridge where a Fallen dropship has crashed; you’ll find Xur waiting there.

Xur also offers the Xenology quest every week, which requires you to complete 21 strikes or win Crucible and Gambit matches so that you can earn an Exotic Cipher. These are normally used to buy old Exotics from a kiosk in the Tower, but next season, you’ll be able to spend them at Master Rahool to get the Exotics that you want. The cap on Exotic Ciphers will also be increasing, as you’ll be able to hold up to five of them at a time.
Xur is present every weekend in Destiny 2, starting with the daily reset at 10 AM PT / 1 PM ET each Friday. His exact location is always a mystery when he first arrives, as he is not listed on the map, and for novice players, he can be easy to miss. However, there are a set number of locations where he takes up residence, including the Tower Hangar area, on Nessus in Watcher’s Grave, and in the Winding Cove area of the EDZ.
Exotic Armor
The Dragon’s Shadow
This chest armor works well in PvP engagements for Hunters, as the Wraithmetal Mail perk will instantly reload all your weapons and buff your movement and weapon handling speeds for a short time. As for stats, the armor has exceptional discipline, great mobility, and average resilience, but everything else has a low value attached to it.
Mobility: 16Resilience: 11Recovery: 7Discipline: 27Intellect: 2Strength: 2Total: 65
Mk.44 Stand Asides
For the Titan who likes to close gaps, Mk.44 Stand Asides are the Exotic to have. If you have Seismic Strike, Hammer Strike, or Shield Bash equipped, sprinting while at full health will grant you an overshield. Once you land a blow with one of those abilities you’ll get some of your melee energy restored, making this Exotic great for a number of scenarios. The stats aren’t too bad either as the numbers are mostly spread around evenly, but recovery is absolutely dismal on this armor and mobility is usually not the most desirable aspect of armor for Titans.
Mobility: 16Resilience: 13Recovery: 2Discipline: 10Intellect: 13Strength: 9Total: 63
Felwinter’s Helm
Powered melee final bows from your Warlock will create a burst of energy that’ll weaken nearby targets when you wear Felwinter’s Helm. Additionally, finishers and final blows against powerful targets increase the radius of the blast and its duration, making this a good Exotic to equip if you’re focusing on debuffing enemies. It pairs well with a Void subclass, and it has great strength stats to help emphasize its melee-centric nature. Mobility, resilience, recovery, and intellect have average numbers, but the discipline stat is incredibly low and will affect your grenade regeneration or compensate with other pieces of armor.
Mobility: 9Resilience: 11Recovery: 10Discipline: 2Intellect: 10Strength: 20Total: 62
Exotic Weapons
Prometheus Lens
The second Exotic trace rifle to be added to Destiny 2, Prometheus Lens is one of the best Exotics you can have if you’re focusing on your Solar subclass build. Even without armor mods that feed into its ability to apply scorch stacks to a target from sustained fire, it’s still a brilliant weapon. Kills will partially refill the magazine from reserves, extending the duration of the beam, so you’ll want to ensure you have trace rifle ammo pick-up mods to keep this hungry beast of a weapon fed.
Hawkmoon
Hawkmoon rolls with the Killing Wind trait, which grants increased mobility, weapon range, and handling from final blows. That works well with the Paracausal Shot perk when you’re taking out red-bar enemies to charge up your final shot. This is generally a more popular combo for PvP, with Killing Wind often featuring in Crucible rolls of this hand cannon.
Dead Man’s Tale
Dead Man’s Tale has Moving Target this week, which is generally a great perk for PvP. You’ll gain increased movement speed and target acquisition when moving while aiming down sights, and combined with Short-Action Stock, it’s a pretty potent combo.
