Where Is Xur Today? (Nov. 5-9) – Destiny 2 Xur Location And Exotics Guide

Update: Xur has departed the solar system for this week. Here’s where you can find Xur and what Exotics he’s selling for the weekend of Nov. 12-16.

Once again, Xur returns to the solar system to bring you a new inventory of Exotics that can give you an edge. We’ve got a week off from the Trials of Osiris in Destiny 2, but the Iron Banner has returned for more tough six-player action. As always, competitive battles make for great times to try out new loadouts and builds, and adding a fresh Exotic to your rotation can help. Here’s where you can find Xur and what he’s offering.

Head to the EDZ, to the Winding Cove area, to find Xur this week. For his weapon, Xur is offering Prometheus Lens. Hunters can pick up the Shinobu’s Vow gauntlets; for Titans, there’s the Lion Rampant leg armor; and for Warlocks, Xur has the Crown of Tempests helmet.

In addition to his Exotics, Xur also has an inventory of Legendary weapons, although this is another week in which nothing in the group is a must-have. The two potentially useful weapons are Xur’s True Prophecy hand cannon, which includes some good Range perks, Graverobber and Timed Payload, and a Reload Speed Masterwork, and his Nature of the Beast hand cannon, which includes Rangefinder and Quickdraw, with a Handling Masterwork. Both are decent choices for the Crucible, and while neither choice is a knockout, they’ll definitely put in work against fellow Guardians. PvE players should also consider the Distant Tumulus sniper Xur is offering–it’s the only rapid-fire sniper that can roll Firing Line, which is a big damage boost if you can activate it with your teammates, and this is a tough gun to farm otherwise.

Xur’s Legendary armor haul this week is the Seventh Seraph set from the Season of the Worthy. It’s unobtainable in the game right now, so if you’re missing pieces of this set, now’s the time to grab them. Hunters and Titans can shore up their loadouts with a few decent pieces with stat rolls of around 62 or 63, but the standouts are in the Warlock camp this week. If you’re a Warlock, you can get both the Seventh Seraph chest armor and helmet at stat rolls of 64, which is pretty high for what Xur usually offers. Check these options for your loadout, especially if you’re weak in the Resilience stat and need to raise it up.

Xur Location

You’ll find Xur in the EDZ area on Earth, in the Winding Cove section. Land at the transmat zone there and hop on your sparrow heading north. Make your way up the destroyed overpass until you hit the cliff wall that borders the northern edge of the area. Either climb up to the crashed Fallen dropship above, or look for a cave entrance that’ll take you into a tunnel that leads to that spot. Xur is standing beside the ship (flanked by Fallen defenders), waiting for you.

Xur is present every weekend in Destiny 2, starting with the daily reset at 10 AM PT / 1 PM ET each Friday (although that exact timing will soon be changing when Daylight Savings wraps up for the year). His exact location is always a mystery when he first arrives, as he is not listed on the map, and for novice players, he can be easy to miss. However, there are a set number of locations where he takes up residence, including the Tower Hangar area, on Nessus in Watcher’s Grave, and in the Winding Cove area of the EDZ.

Xur Exotic Items

This week, Xur’s gun is the trace rifle Prometheus Lens. Though its heyday in the Crucible is long over, the burning laser is still a lot of fun to play with. The beam has a lot of range and no damage fall-off, so if you can hold it on a target, it usually makes short work of them, whether in PvP or Pve. If you’re not a fan of his other options, Xur also sells an Exotic engram that will decrypt into an Exotic you don’t already own. Just note that you can only buy one per week, and the engram is specific to the character class who buys it–so if you’re trying to get a new Titan helmet, don’t buy the engram with your Warlock. He also has the new Xenology Quest, which rewards an Exotic Cipher you can use to purchase Exotics from either Xur or the Tower’s Monument to Lost Lights. The quest requires you to either complete Strikes or win matches in Gambit and the Crucible.

Alongside changes in his location, Xur’s inventory also rotates weekly. That means it’s worth visiting him each time to check out his new weapons and rolls on Exotic and Legendary armor. You can visit him any time between his arrival Friday and the weekly reset at 10 AM PT / 1 PM ET the following Tuesday when Xur departs the solar system.

Prometheus Lens (Trace Rifle)

Prometheus Lens is, in essence, a laser that burns. The longer you hold the trace rifle’s beam on a target, the larger the cooking field of hot energy becomes, potentially dealing more damage to big targets or damage to several targets at once–so long as you can keep hitting what you’re aiming at. The straight-line nature of the trace rifle coupled with the fact that it doesn’t suffer damage falloff makes Prometheus Lens a solid option in lots of cases, including the Crucible.

Shinobu’s Vow (Hunter)

Shinobu’s Vow has recently enjoyed some time in the sun. Players are finding that Skip grenades can be pretty brutal in Crucible situations, particularly high-level competitions like the Trials of Osiris. Shinobu’s Vow makes those Skip grenades even better–they’re deadlier when you have the Exotic equipped, you get a second grenade charge so you can throw more of them, and when your Skips damage enemies, you get grenade energy back. This is also a good stat roll for the Exotic at a total of 65, with the Recovery stat being one you really want to lean into for survivability in PvP situations. This is a good get for Hunters that you’ll want in your Vault.

Lion Rampant (Titan)

Aerial maneuvers can be frustrating for players in Destiny–if they’re deployed against you. Fighting from the air often gives Crucible fighters a serious edge, and Lion Rampant can be great for making you deadly while off the ground. The Exotic gives Titans more maneuverability while they’re in the air, while increasing the accuracy of firing from the hip while flying as well. Paired with something that already does well firing from the hip, like Last Word or Dead Man’s Tale, Lion Rampant can help make you very annoying in the Crucible.

Crown of Tempests (Warlock)

You’ll often see Arc Warlocks sporting the Crown of Tempests Exotic, and for good reason–it makes their Arc abilities better and greatly enhances their Stormtrance Super. The Exotic speeds your ability recharge whenever you get an Arc ability kill, but the real benefit is for your Super: Getting kills with your lightning fingers extends the duration of Stormtrance, so you can sweep through a Crucible match or a crowd of enemies with ease. As with Xur’s Shinobu’s Vow, this is a pretty good Exotic roll for Warlocks, so if you’re short a Crown of Tempests or would like an improved one, consider purchasing this one.
