Update: Xur has left the solar system for the weekend of October 1. Here’s where you can find him and what Exotics Xur is selling for the weekend of Oct. 8-12.
After some awesome and interesting reworks of the Trials of Osiris in Destiny 2, the weekend competitive mode is taking a break this week. You can keep yourself busy with the Iron Banner, however, which is another great reason to stock up on Exotics from Xur. Here’s where you can find him this week and everything he’s selling, from Exotic weapons and armor to new Legendary gear.
Head to Nessus, to Watcher’s Grave area, to find Xur this week. For his weapon, Xur is offering Hard Light. Hunters can pick up the Shards of Galanor gauntlets; for Titans, there’s the Crest of Alpha Lupi chest armor; and for Warlocks, Xur has the Sunbracers gauntlets.
Unfortunately, there isn’t much to get really excited about from Xur this week. Among his Legendary inventory, Xur has a few decent weapons, although nothing that falls into an absolute must-have category. The two pulse rifles Xur carries are pretty good: His Last Perdition packs Kill Clip and Under Pressure with a Range masterwork, which makes it solid for both PvP and PvE scenarios, as well as the best gun he’s offering this week. The Jian 7 Rifle might also appeal, with Outlaw, Full Auto Trigger, and Range. If you’re hunting for a decent shotgun, Xur’s Seventh Seraph CQC-12 will put in work in the Crucible with its Snapshot Sights and Auto-Loading Holster.
On the Legendary armor front, Xur has the Ancient Apocalypse set. Hunters and Warlocks each have one or two decent offerings, but Titans are finally getting some respect from the Xur store. All the Titan armor has pretty solid stat numbers, with nothing coming in under a total of 62. This probably isn’t a situation in which you want to out Xur’s entire Titan inventory based on the stat distribution, but you might find what you’re looking for with Xur for some specific builds–for instance, the Ancient Apocalypse Plate chest armor he’s offering has big Mobility and Discipline stats at the cost of everything else. If you’re looking to fill some holes in your loadout, he might have some good options.
Xur Location
Make your way to the Watcher’s Grave transmat zone on Nessus to find Xur this week. Hop on your sparrow and head to the north end, where you’ll see a big tree with pink moss growing on it. Park and climb up onto the branches of the tree and you’ll find Xur on a big flat one on its south side, looking out over the area below.
Xur returns to the solar system every weekend in Destiny 2, starting with the daily reset at 10 AM PT / 1 PM ET each Friday. The thing is, where he’ll land isn’t known until he actually arrives. Xur can hang out at one of several locations, including in the Tower Hangar area, on Nessus in Watcher’s Grave, and in the Winding Cove area of the EDZ. Xur’s inventory also changes each week, so it’s worth revisiting him on the weekends for new weapons and rolls on Exotic and Legendary armor. You can visit him any time between his arrival Friday and the weekly reset at 10 AM PT / 1 PM ET the following Tuesday when Xur departs the solar system.
Xur Exotic Items
Xur is back with Hard Light as his Exotic weapon this week, which is always a useful gun to have in your collection. The auto rifle will perform in any scenario and is great for laying down a ton of ammo to cut through the hordes in PvE, or for smashing Guardians–even around corners–in the Crucible. If you’re not a fan of his other options, Xur also sells an Exotic engram that will decrypt into an Exotic you don’t already own. Just note that you can only buy one per week, and the engram is specific to the character class who buys it–so if you’re trying to get a new Titan helmet, don’t buy the engram with your Warlock. He also has the new Xenology Quest, which rewards an Exotic Cipher you can use to purchase Exotics from either Xur or the Tower’s Monument to Lost Lights. The quest requires you to either complete Strikes or win matches in Gambit and the Crucible.

Each week, Xur offers one Exotic weapon and three pieces of Exotic armor: one for each character class. The inventory is random, as are the stat rolls you can expect on each of his armor offerings, so if you’re looking to fill out your collection or if you’re hoping for better versions of Exotics you already have, it’s worth visiting him. Xur also brings an Exotic Engram, which is guaranteed to drop something you don’t already have, if there are Exotics missing from your collection on that particular character–but that doesn’t include Exotics you have to earn through activities, including the new Exotic armors added each season, which can only be claimed from Legendary or Master Lost Sectors.

Hard Light (Auto Rifle)
If you don’t have a Hard Light in your Collections, you should snag one. This auto rifle is an extremely useful standby, especially with Grandmaster Nightfall Strikes about to come to the game with the next weekly reset. First, by holding the reload button, you can shift its element at any time, allowing you to cut through any shields enemy combatants are using–which is great when you’re facing the Match Game modifier in tough PvE activities. Hard Light will also perform well in the Crucible, though–it fires fast and has good range, and its rounds ricochet off hard surfaces. If you can bounce bullets around corners or off the ground, you’ll get a damage boost as well (although this is not nearly as deadly as it used to be).
Shards Of Galanor (Hunter)
If you’re going into battle with the Blade Barrage Super, Shards of Galanor are a good Exotic to add to your loadout. Every time you land a hit or a kill with your Blade Barrage, you get Super energy back, capping out at 50% recharge. The Exotic isn’t as killer as it used to be, but that Super energy boost can be very useful for high-Intellect builds and scenarios where you expect to be ripping flaming knives through tons of enemies in order to control tough crowds.

Crest Of Alpha Lupi (Titan)
Some Titan Exotics are about inflicting pain, and some are about minimizing it. Crest of Alpha Lupi is a good one if you consider yourself a support teammate or a protector more than a “wade into the fray, punching everything” type of Titan. Whenever you use your Barricade ability with Crest of Alpha Lupi equipped, it generates an Orb of Power, while also putting out a healing pulse. That’s great if you and your squad are under fire, whether it be in PvE or PvP scenarios.

Sunbracers (Warlock)
Sunbracers are a pretty specific Exotic–if you like Solar grenades, these are the gauntlets for you. The grenades increase the duration of your Solar grenades, which means you can set more people on fire and keep them on fire for longer. What’s more, if you land a Solar melee kill, you get unlimited Solar grenade energy for a short time, allowing you to set a bunch more fires. Both can be very useful in the Crucible or PvE activities, especially if you want to control crowds or territory.
