World of Warcraft is partnering with the Google-owned GPS navigation app Waze for the game’s 20th anniversary, giving the option for users to be guided along their route by the voice of (former) Horde warchief Thrall, alongside visual options for both the Alliance and Horde.
Though Thrall’s voice navigation is only available for English speaking users, he is voiced by his original voice actor, Warcraft executive creative director Chris Metzen. Those who use Thrall’s voice navigation will get to hear the Orc leader describe making a U-turn as “a clever strategy to fool any pursuers on our tail” or offer his wisdom that being stuck in heavy traffic is “not the end of the world.”

Now Playing: World of Warcraft: The War Within – Launch Trailer
To activate Thrall in Waze, users can click “pick a sidekick” on the main menu and select the “Drive with World of Warcraft” option. From there users can activate Thrall’s voice in voice directions.
Aside from options for Horde or Alliance moods, users can also transform their car icon into a fire-breathing red drake–a creature WoW players will be more than familiar with.
Previous Waze collaborations include one for Halo Infinite’s launch that featured the voice of Master Chief or Brute Chieftain Escharum, as well as ones featuring Batman and celebrities like Arnold Schwarzenegger.
It’s just the latest way Blizzard is celebrating WoW’s 20th anniversary. A massive in-game event coming to WoW later this year will let players collect some of the game’s most iconic armor sets, and other Blizzard games have also gotten in on the action, with both Diablo 4 and Overwatch 2 offering WoW-themed cosmetics.
In GameSpot’s WoW: The War Within review, we called the latest expansion to Blizzard’s MMORPG “WoW at its most approachable” thanks to new additions like the account-wide Warband system and new endgame solo content called Delves.
