WWE announced Thursday morning it will now make one of its “Big Four” pay-per-views a two-night event. In 2020 Wrestlemania expanded to two nights for the first time and the tradition has stuck, now Summerslam will become two nights in 2026 in Minneapolis.
“For over 35 years Summerslam has delivered some of the most amazing moments in WWE history,” Paul “Triple H” Levesque said in a video package. “In 2026, [we’ll] once again make history. Working with Minnesota Sports and Events we’re going to expand Summerslam to two nights. Saturday, August 1 and Sunday, August 2…WWE will bring two epic nights of Summerslam to the Twin Cities.
It’ll be the first time since 2019 that WWE has held a pay-per-view (or premium live event, PLE) in Minneapolis and it’ll be the first time the company has held a stadium even in the city as it’ll take place at the US Bank Stadium.
Minneapolis was rumored to be the front-runner to host Wrestlemania in 2025 but lost to Las Vegas. This is a decent consolation prize and could also be the start of WWE expanding other events to two nights, such as the Royal Rumble. It’s an easy format to adapt with either the men’s or women’s Rumble happening on either night.
Pre-sale ticket information is live now for Summerslam 2026.
