Xbox servers appear to have been stabilized following a series of issues that affected gaming, parties, and more. The issues that were occurring are detailed below.
Microsoft first acknowledged the problem early on October 2, promising updates as the support team looked into what is causing the problem.
On the official Xbox Status page, four areas are listed as experiencing either “limited” services or a “major outage”: Account & profile, Friends & social activity, Cloud gaming & remote play, and Games & gaming. While The Elder Scrolls Online was undergoing scheduled maintenance already, other games were supposed to be available and Microsoft says you “may have problems launching games.”
Additionally, you may find yourself unable to join a friend’s party, or sign in to your account at all.
GameSpot will update this story as the server situation evolves, so keep checking back for the latest.
