Zelda: Tears Of The Kingdom – Colgera Boss Guide

The Legend of Zelda: Tears of the Kingdom Colgera boss is a beefed-up centipede-esque creature. You’ll be battling it in the skies above Hebra. Here’s our guide to help you defeat Colgera in Zelda: Tears of the Kingdom.

How to beat Colgera in The Legend of Zelda: Tears of the Kingdom

The Legend of Zelda: Tears of the Kingdom Colgera boss guards the Wind Temple in Hebra. Given that most of the dungeon requires you to use Tulin’s Wind Burst ability as you make your way across floating platforms and flying ships, it’s only fitting that this entire battle is one very hectic skydiving session. As such, you don’t want to fall all the way down to your doom.

To be fair, Colgera has a fairly simple mechanic if you want to deal damage: dive and accelerate to hit the crystalline carapace on its body. The faster you are when you crash into it (i.e. diving from a greater height uninterrupted), the faster you’d break that carapace. If you only dive when you’re fairly close, the carapace won’t break instantly, and Link might just bounce off.

Still, Colgera does have a few notable abilities:

Skyward Spikes – The spikes from its back will be launched toward you, so you have to avoid them while skydiving. The Serpent Below – After breaking a carapace, Colgera will screech and disappear. It will then emerge from below, beelining straight for Link. Use Tulin’s Wind Burst to move sideways.Terrible Tornadoes – When below 50% HP, Colgera will start casting tornadoes your way. You’ll have to glide sideways as you attempt to get closer.

In any case, you’ll simply skydive to break three carapaces, which will then lead to the second phase. After that, you’ll have to break three more. With a bit of luck, you should be able to defeat the Zelda: Tears of the Kingdom Colgera boss. This will complete the Hebra/Rito Village quest chain. Tulin will also grant you his vow, allowing you to make use of Wind Burst during your travels.

Don’t forget to advance further into the campaign by finishing the other regional main quests. You’ll be visiting Gerudo, Lanayru, and Eldin.
