As you work your way through the northern section of Hyrule Ridge, you’ll likely stumble across the Kiuyoyou Shrine sitting out in the open ready for you to tackle its puzzles. Inside, you’ll find a collection of tricky segments that require you to work with fire and ice, so we’ll fill you in on what you need to do below.
How to solve the Kiuyoyou Shrine Puzzle in The Legend of Zelda: Tears of the Kingdom
When you first enter the shrine, take note of the large ice block and stream of fire jets. Pick up the ice block with your Ultrahand and place it under the fire jets very briefly to melt it to around half of its initial size.
Afterward, look on the left of the room for a switch inside an alcove next to a gate, then place the ice block in there to access a new room.
In this new room, you should notice the shrine’s chest to your immediate left. Turn around and grab the ice block off the switch and place it next to the ledges here to work your way up and open the chest.
Use your paraglider to have the air stream take you to the upper part of this room. Pick up the large plate sitting against the wall and place it in front of the fire jets to the left right before a new ice block falls down–and leave it there.
Pick up the new ice block and place it away from the jets, then grab the large plate and attach it to the top of the ice block. Now you can slide the ice block down the nearby spiky ramp, then paraglide back down to it.
Lastly, carry the ice block with the plate attached and place it under the original fire jets from the first room. This will trigger a switch and open the gate, which will allow you to head into the final room and complete the shrine.
