Zelda: Tears Of The Kingdom – Queen Gibdo Boss Guide

The Legend of Zelda: Tears of the Kingdom Queen Gibdo boss is a giant moth creature. Although you’ll face it early on while doing the Gerudo main quest, you’ll eventually have to go to its lair. Here’s our guide to help you defeat Queen Gibdo in Zelda: Tears of the Kingdom.

How to beat Queen Gibdo in The Legend of Zelda: Tears of the Kingdom

The Legend of Zelda: Tears of the Kingdom Queen Gibdo boss will ambush Link and Riju as they head to the large structure that just appeared in the desert. This will give you an idea as to the creature’s abilities. However, it will manage to escape, which means you still need to clear the Lightning Temple Puzzle before you can enter its lair.

As far as the actual boss battle in the temple arena goes, Queen Gibdo has a few notable abilities:

Sand Blast – Fires a beam of sand that tracks your location.Sandstorm – Creates several sand tornadoes in the area. The Gibdo Mob – This will be used during phase 2 once it’s down to 50% HP.

Queen Gibdo shouldn’t pose too much of a problem, as its attacks can be easily avoided… until phase 2. Things can get a bit hectic once it summons the Gibdo Mob. Basically, the four Gibdo Bulbs will continuously spawn Gibdo Mummies and Gibdo Moths.

The goal here is to destroy the bulbs quickly. Activate Riju’s Lightning Strike ability, then wait for the golden AoE field to cover one of the bulbs. Once you hit it with an arrow, the bulb will be destroyed, causing a ray of sunlight to shine in that area. The Gibdo enemies that walk into the sunlight turned into ash, and you won’t even need to worry about them. Perhaps the only hassles here are that (a) Gibdo Mummies are quite fast, and (b) the Queen Gibdo will still try to fire beams at you.

In any case, prioritize the adds first. Then, continue shooting the Queen Gibdo with Riju’s Lightning Strike ability. Whenever it’s stunned, keep wailing at it with your melee weapon.

With a bit of luck, you should be able to defeat the Zelda: Tears of the Kingdom Queen Gibdo boss. This will complete the Gerudo/Gerudo Town quest chain. Riju will also grant you her vow, allowing you to make use of Lightning Strike during your travels. Don’t forget to advance further into the campaign by finishing the other regional main quests. You’ll be visiting Hebra, Lanayru, and Eldin.
