Samsung 990 Pro PS5 SSD + Heatsink
1TB – $95 (was $175) | 2TB – $133 (was $265)
If you’re running out of storage space on your PlayStation 5, Amazon’s Prime Big Deal Days sale includes stellar discounts on one of the best NVMe SSDs you can buy for your PS5: Samsung’s 990 Pro. The 1TB and 2TB models with preinstalled heatsinks are included in the promotion. You can snag the 1TB 990 Pro with heatsink for $95, or jump up to the 2TB capacity for $133. The 990 Pro is Samsung’s flagship M.2 SSD, so it tends to be quite popular during major sales events. The deals technically run through tomorrow, October 9, but we wouldn’t be surprised to see both offers sell out before then.
Samsung 990 Pro PS5 SSD + Heatsink
1TB – $95 (was $175) | 2TB – $133 (was $265)
Samsung’s 990 Pro is one of the most popular SSDs for PS5 and PC, as it offers tremendous performance and is manufactured by a brand with a reputation for creating high-end storage solutions. Deals on NVMe SSDs have been slim this year, so Amazon’s current offers on the 1TB and 2TB models are the best we’ve seen recently.
Both the 1TB and 2TB are PS5-ready out of the box, as they come with a preinstalled heatsink–a heatsink is required to use M.2 SSDs with the console.
With read speeds up to 7,450 MB/s and write speeds up to 6,900 MB/s, it far surpasses the requirements of Sony’s console–making it easy to see why it’s so popular. PC owners can’t wrong with the 990 Pro either, and you will be able to make even better use of its fast speeds on PC.
Expanding your PS5 storage is a fairly simple process, though it’s not as straightforward as the plug-and-play expansion cards for Xbox Series X|S. Check out our PS5 SSD installation guide if you need help expanding your console’s storage.
