Canceled Call Of Duty: Future Warfare Gameplay Appears To Have Leaked, Again

Several missions from an unreleased Call of Duty game from around 2010 have popped up online. Codenamed NX1, the game was reportedly known as Call of Duty: Future Warfare and under development at Tony Hawk Pro Skater studio Neversoft.

Insider Gaming spotted three different missions for Call of Duty: Future Warfare uploaded on YouTube by Generalkidd. Additionally, while the project never was officially unveiled, it’s said the game already had an almost-complete campaign. The gameplay videos–seen below–even feature voice acting, though it’s possible they were stand-ins until production got further along.

At the beginning of the year, Call of Duty: Future Warfare was discovered after gameplay footage surfaced online. A developer who worked on the project, Brian Bright, noted that Neversoft started working on NX1 after the turmoil at Infinity Ward saw Jason West and Vince Zampella released from the developer by Activision. (They went on to form Respawn Entertainment.) Bright added the goal was to create a “futuristic Call of Duty game.”

Back in 2010, Activision did, in fact, register various web domain names that included Call of Duty: Future Warfare. Meanwhile, last year, the company revealed that Call of Duty was mapped out through 2027, with 3,000 people working on the FPS franchise.

Next month, Call of Duty: Black Ops 6 launches on October 25.
