Prison Architect 2 Is Delayed Indefinitely, Those Who Preordered Will Receive Refunds

Kokku, the studio behind Prison Architect 2, has just announced that the game has been indefinitely delayed. Those who preordered it will receive refunds.

A blog post by the game’s community manager explains that Kokku needed “more time to improve both the game’s performance and its content.” The team wants to ensure the game meets quality standards before releasing it.

“Our continuous internal reviews and beta test groups have highlighted areas that we need to focus on more, mainly performance and content, which we need to address before launch to ensure that you, the players, get a good experience in the game,” the post said.

The post goes on to explain that the studio is unsure when the game will be released because of the amount of work involved in fixing these issues. One of the team’s main goals in the coming months is to create “a more robust release timeline.” Because of this, the team plans to limit its communication with the public to focus on fixing the game.

As a result of Prison Architect 2 being indefinitely delayed, all preorders will be refunded. Preorder items will go toward the base game.

This isn’t the first time Prison Architect 2 has been delayed. The game was initially scheduled to come out in March but was pushed back to September 3 earlier this year. The first delay was because the team had run into some stability tests in its latest build.
