Seagate’s Starfield-themed 8TB external hard drive is back in stock for $150 at Best Buy. This deal, which knocks $90 off the price of the special-edition desktop drive, sold out on two separate occasions earlier this month. If interested, we’d recommend snagging one soon. We wouldn’t expect this offer to remain available through the duration of Best Buy’s Great Summer Sale, which is slated to end this Sunday, July 28. Best Buy also has the 5TB portable version of Seagate’s Starfield hard drive discounted to $110 (was $170), and the 2TB model is on sale for $80 (was $110) at Amazon.

The 8TB Starfield Game Drive Hub is quite chunky in comparison to the 5TB drive. As a “hub,” the 8TB version is equipped with USB-A and USB-C ports, while the 5TB portable external drive only has the data cable to USB-A connection.

Along with an eye-catching design inspired by Starfield, each drive comes with a one-year warranty and custom RGB lighting effects.

As mentioned, Amazon sold out of both the 5TB and 8TB drives earlier this month, and unlike Best Buy hasn’t restocked its inventory. However, you can still get the 2TB portable model for $80.

The Seagate Starfield HDD is officially licensed, and you can also use it as an external drive for PS5 and Xbox Series X. Keep in mind you’ll need to transfer PS5 or Xbox Series X games from this external drive to your console before you can play them–Xbox One or PS4 games can be played directly from the drive–so this probably isn’t the best solution for console gaming unless you are gaming on last-gen consoles or have slow internet speeds. For some users, deleting and re-downloading games on console may be faster than transferring games back and forth between your console’s SSD and the external drive.

Instead, you could use the 8TB drive to store your biggest PC games as well as other data.

Games are bigger than ever nowadays, so consider upgrading your storage abilities with one of these cheap external HDDs ahead of all the big game launches this holiday season. The 8TB model will be the most versatile thanks to the extra USB ports.
