More Than 60% Of Elden Ring Players On Steam Aren't Ready For Shadow Of The Erdtree Yet

Ahead of the release of Elden Ring’s Shadow of the Erdtree expansion on June 21, publisher Bandai Namco has released a friendly reminder to players that they’ll need to meet certain requirements if they want to access the new content.

Specifically, players will need to beat two tough bosses, Starscourge Radahn and Mohg, Lord of Blood, something the majority of players have yet to do. Players can earn trophies or achievements when they slay the shardbearers, and for anyone who has yet to do so, they’ll only have two weeks to take these tough foes down before Shadow of the Erdtree launches.

Now Playing: Quickest Ways to Get Ready For Elden Ring Shadow of the Erdtree DLC

“Friendly PSA for all those looking forward to Elden Ring: Shadow of the Erdtree,” Bandai Namco posted on social media in response to a user explaining how the achievement for beating Mohg had only been unlocked by 37.8% of the game’s players on that platform. “You have less than two weeks to prepare!”

Finding exact numbers on PlayStation and Xbox is a little trickier, as several Trophy and Achievement-tracking have wildly different results, but it’s a safe bet that a chunk of the respective playerbases have yet to take on conquer those bosses. If you are looking for some help, you can check out GameSpot’s Mohg and Radahn boss battle guides for tips and tricks on how to defeat them.

Shadow of the Erdtree looks set to push players to their limits, as not only does the expansion add 10 more bosses, it also throws in a new difficulty-adjusting feature, and players won’t feel overpowered when they enter new areas.

“Yes, Shadow of the Erdtree is more of the same Elden Ring gameplay you know with new weapons, items, and areas to enjoy. But that is something that no other game has offered and no other developer has delivered,” Tamoor Hussain wrote in GameSpot’s Elden Ring: Shadow of the Erdtree preview.
