AffiliateWP Recurring Referrals connects subscription-based payment systems to AffiliateWP, ensuring affiliates earn commissions not just on the initial sale but on every recurring payment made by the customers they referred. This incentivizes affiliates to promote subscription products by providing ongoing revenue from their referrals.

Core Functionality

• Recurring commission tracking: Automatically creates a new referral in AffiliateWP each time a referred customer makes a subscription renewal payment, awarding the affiliate a commission for each cycle.
• Subscription platform support: Works with WooCommerce Subscriptions, Easy Digital Downloads Recurring Payments, MemberPress, Restrict Content Pro, and other subscription plugins that integrate with AffiliateWP.
• Rate configuration: Set recurring referral rates that can differ from the initial sale commission. Offer a higher initial rate and lower recurring rate, or equal rates across all payments.
• Referral limiting: Optionally limit the number of recurring referrals per subscription, such as commissions only for the first 12 renewal payments rather than indefinitely.

Practical Considerations

Recurring referrals increase the total commission liability of your affiliate program since affiliates earn on every renewal. Budget planning should account for ongoing commission costs proportional to customer retention rates. If a subscription is cancelled and later reactivated, the addon behavior depends on the subscription platform handling. This addon requires AffiliateWP core plus a compatible subscription plugin.
