St. Paul, MN (SportsNetwork.com) – The Minnesota Wild and goaltender Darcy Kuemper agreed to terms on a two-year contract Thursday.
The 24-year-old backstop finished last year with a 12-8-4 record, 2.43 goals- against average and a pair of shutouts in 26 regular-season appearances.
Kuemper recorded the first playoff shutout in team history during the Wild’s first-round series against the Colorado Avalanche. He was forced to depart a series-clinching 5-4 overtime victory in Game 7 late in the third period for an undisclosed reason.
A native of Saskatchewan, Kuemper has gone 13-10-4 with a 2.37 GAA in 32 NHL contests over the last two seasons.
